Builder™ are leaders in large scale, industrial-sized printing. The printers in their Extreme PRO range can produce large and highly detailed prototypes, fixtures, and functional parts for a range of applications.
Industrial-scale printing
- Builder, specialists in designing large 3D printers, provide large-format solutions that are easy to use, maintain and operate.
- Offering significant build capacities, these printers can create sizeable parts over short time frames for efficient in-house prototyping and reduced product development time.
- Builder’s printers are versatile and can be applied to a range of fields, including small series manufacturing, product prototyping, automotive, aerospace, boating, architecture, structural engineering, model making, mock-ups and more.
The Extreme 3000 PRO
- Builder’s Extreme 3000 PRO is a leading solution for producing full-size parts, prototypes, and moulds in one seamless print, with an impressive build volume of 1100x1100x820mm.
- The printer’s design allows for printing multiple parts in a single print job, improving efficiency and saving time. Removable panels at the sides of the printer ensure easy access for product removal or maintenance.
- Controlling it is simple – its large touchscreen interface is easy to navigate.
Technological excellence
- Using fused filament fabrication technology, Builder’s printers can process a wide range of thermoplastic materials, including ABS, PLA, and PETG.
- Builder’s own Dual-Feed extrusion technology enables seamless printing of multiple parts from one nozzle, as well as gradated colour mixing within one print.
- The included slicing software, with optimised print profiles for 0.4, 0.8, and 1.22mm nozzles, ensures a quick and effortless setup and operation, requiring minimal maintenance.
- The Extreme 3000 PRO embodies Builder’s innovative approach to large-scale additive manufacturing, with unparalleled build volume, easy access design, user-friendly interface, and versatile nozzle options.
Proven use cases
- Builder’s industrial scale printers have been deployed across various industries for diverse manufacturing solutions.
- InMotion, a team of students designing a high-performance electric car, uses Builder Extreme for prototyping large nose- and rear-wings.
- The Naturalis Biodiversity Centre in the Netherlands used Builder Extreme to print replacements for missing bones of Dirk, a 67 million-year-old fossilised triceratops.
- KLM engine services leverages Builder’s printers to produce important tools, reducing the cost of the process by 80%.
- UK-based Eventuri uses the Builder Extreme 1500 for printing large and complex exhaust intakes for fitting tests.

FAQ’S
Commonly asked questions about Builder
It is delivered boxed, on a pallet. Once the box has been removed the Builder Extreme has to be removed from the pallet with either a forklift truck (or it is possible to use a pallet truck) – DO NOT attempt to remove the box or the pallet without checking with Additive-X first! For some models this MUST be done by one of our Technical Specialists on-site.
Yes, we recommend you keep the pallet and box which was designed especially for safe transportation of the Extreme, in case it has to be moved in the future.
When your printer is on its way to you, an email is sent from Simplify3D with instructions on setting up your profile. If you have any problems just contact the team at Additive-X.
No you don’t, the Builder Extreme has automatic bed levelling but you do have to level the machine itself – follow the quick start instructions and adjust the bed if required, based on the results of the surface test
Your Builder Extreme undergoes 50 hours testing, checking printing in mono, dual and colour mixed objects. The filament is left in the print head then you remove it before you print, after pre-heating.
