What are specialty 3D printing materials?

Specialty materials are formulated for specific performance needs, such as flexibility, high-temperature resistance, flame retardancy, biocompatibility or electrical conductivity, going beyond what standard materials can offer.

What is a flexible 3D printing material used for?

Flexible materials such as TPU are used for applications needing elasticity and impact absorption, including protective cases, gaskets, seals and wearable parts.

Are specialty materials harder to print with?

Many specialty materials require specific settings, such as slower print speeds, higher temperatures or an enclosed chamber, so they typically demand more experience or printer capability than standard materials.

The 3DGence Industry F420 is able to provide you the choice of three different modules which allow you to produce repeatable models from the widest range of filaments. Each module is customised to a specific group of materials in order to optimise the printing process with an internal modules memory which saves the time that would otherwise be used for calibration. All the modules are also equipped with dual hotends and inactive nozzle lifting system. Each individual module has a different print temperature maximum and between the three different modules able to print ABS, ASA, PLA, PA6, PC, ULTEM, PEEK, PEKK with either HIPS or ESM-10 soluble support materials.
