Formlabs Rigid 4000 Resin Cartridge (1L)
Ideal for stiff and strong parts that can withstand minimal deflection.
Consider Rigid 4000 Resin for general load-bearing applications.
Rigid Resin for Stiffness and Precision
Whether you’re optimizing your manufacturing process, rapidly iterating through designs, or assessing form, fit, and function, Formlabs Engineering Resins are formulated to withstand extensive testing and perform under stress.
Glass-filled Rigid 4000 Resin prints with a smooth, polished finish and is ideal for stiff and strong parts that can withstand minimal deflection. Consider Rigid 4000 Resin for general load-bearing applications.
Rigid Resin prints with a polished finish. The colour is akin to an off-white. It is highly resistant to deformation over time, so parts manufactured with it will look as new for many years to come, so long as they are cared for properly.
Because it is reinforced with glass for stiffness and stability, Rigid Resin is more brittle than Formlabs’ Tough and Durable resins. This makes parts more susceptible to damage if mishandled. However, Rigid Resin is still extremely impact and heat resistant, making it a very useful material for manufacturing stiff, precise parts.
The “4000” in the name represents the material’s tensile modulus. If you need a stiffer material, try Rigid 10K Resin.
Supports print resolutions: 100 and 50 microns.
Requires Resin Tank LT form the Form 2.
Requires Resin Tank V2.1 for the Form 3.
Rigid 4000 Resin decreases the lifetime of resin tanks.
The Formlabs family of Rigid Resins have many shared applications. Identifying the best material for a specific use case involves understanding your design constraints and the key tradeoffs between the materials.

Can I reuse resin?
Yes. You can reuse resin that is in your tank after a print, please do not return resin to the resin cartridge to avoid potential contamination. The Form 2 orange cover protects unused resin from ambient light.
Can I store unused resin in the resin tank?
Outside of the printer or resin cartridge, resin can be stored in the standard Resin Tank with the lid on for up to one month and in Resin Tank LT with the lid on for up to two months. Empty or use any excess resin before storing resin tanks for longer than this. Do not pour liquid resin back into the original container.
