Grey resin is the tool of choice for general purpose prototyping with the Formlabs printers. This resin is specially engineered for fine detail and it has an extremely high tensile strength, similar to that of cured ABS plastic. As a result, it’s a great choice of resin for functional prototypes and it lends itself well to any model with moving parts.
Printed parts take on a stylish, neutral colour with a matte finish and prints are ready to use right off the printer. The final colour is ideal for painting over (the grey acting as a primer) and because of this, many people use grey resin to print end product parts, in addition to prototypes. We have also seen this resin used alongside Formlabs’ clear resin; the two complement one another wonderfully, allowing the user to experiment with geometries, finishing and lighting.
No post-curing required.

Can I reuse resin?
Yes. You can reuse resin that is in your tank after a print, please do not return resin to the resin cartridge to avoid potential contamination. The Form 2 orange cover protects unused resin from ambient light. -
Can I store unused resin in the resin tank?
Outside of the printer or resin cartridge, resin can be stored in the standard Resin Tank with the lid on for up to one month and in Resin Tank LT with the lid on for up to two months. Empty or use any excess resin before storing resin tanks for longer than this. Do not pour liquid resin back into the original container.
