Shining 3D Einstar Rockit 3D Scanner

The EINSTAR Rockit is a compact wireless 3D scanner designed to combine portability, speed and detailed 3D capture in one pocket-sized device. With built-in Wi-Fi connectivity, a swappable battery and support for marker-free laser scanning, Rockit gives users greater freedom to capture objects without being tied to cables, external wireless hubs or adapters.

Built around a hybrid blue laser and IR VCSEL scanning system, the EINSTAR Rockit can tackle everything from detailed components and automotive parts to larger objects and full-body scans. Laser HD mode combines 19 + 19 crossed laser lines for fast, large-area capture with 7 parallel blue laser lines for finer details, allowing the scanner to adapt to different object sizes and levels of complexity.

For objects with strong geometric features, marker-free laser scanning can significantly simplify the scanning process by reducing the need to apply tracking markers before capture. The scanner is also designed to perform well on dark and reflective surfaces without scanning spray in suitable applications, making it particularly useful when digitising automotive components, mechanical parts and other challenging materials.

With a Laser HD resolution down to 0.05 mm, the EINSTAR Rockit can capture fine surface details for high-quality 3D models. Scanning performance reaches up to 2,800,000 points per second in Laser HD mode, while IR Rapid mode increases capture speed to as much as 4,800,000 points per second for efficient scanning of medium and larger subjects.

The integrated IR VCSEL mode expands Rockit's capabilities beyond traditional laser scanning. It provides efficient capture for larger objects and can be used for rapid human scanning, with SHINING 3D positioning the system for full-body capture in around 60 seconds. This makes the scanner useful across applications ranging from digital art and custom designs to AR/VR content and other human-body scanning workflows.

A built-in 5 MP colour camera adds full-colour texture information to captured models, helping produce more realistic digital representations where appearance is just as important as geometry. The Laser HD mode can also operate in challenging daylight conditions of up to 110,000 lux, giving users greater flexibility when scanning outdoors or in varied lighting environments.

Designed with mobility in mind, the Rockit weighs just 425 g and measures approximately 130 × 37 × 61 mm, making it easy to carry between jobs or scanning locations. Its interchangeable battery provides up to 3 hours of runtime, while a wired connection remains available when required or when wireless interference is present. SHINING 3D's EXStar Hub software provides the accompanying scanning environment for both Laser HD and IR scanning workflows.
