SLA (stereolithography) uses a laser or light source to cure liquid photopolymer resin layer by layer, producing parts with fine detail and a smooth surface finish.
SLA cures resin point by point with a laser, while DLP (digital light processing) cures an entire layer at once using a projector. This generally makes DLP faster for certain geometries, at the cost of some resolution flexibility.
After washing, most resin parts need between 5 and 60 minutes of UV post-curing, depending on the resin type, part thickness and curing equipment used.
Uncured resin can irritate skin and eyes, so gloves, eye protection and good ventilation are recommended, along with proper disposal of waste resin and isopropyl alcohol in line with local regulations.
