Simulation takes the guesswork out of 3D printing.
Benefits

Simulation instills confidence that your 3D-printed parts will have the strength required for industrial applications.

Simulation allows you to deliver trusted parts faster by reducing design-print-iteration cycles.

Simulation reduces the cost of 3D-printed parts by optimizing the amounts of material and continuous fiber reinforcement needed.

Features

Markforged Simulation is currently running on a free trial and is available to anyone with an Eiger account

Try Simulation for free

Simulation can verify whether a given part will meet performance requirements and optimize part settings accordingly before you press print. This feature saves time by reducing design-print-test iteration cycles, increasing productivity and machine throughput, and reducing material waste.

Simulation has 2 features

Validate and Optimize Print Settings

  Validate Optimize
What do they do? Evaluates the performance of the part using the current part settings automatically Automatically adjusts print settings while attempting to find configurations that satisfy performance requirements while minimizing print time and cost.
How long does it take to run each ? Validate only involves the evaluation of one set of part settings resulting in a quicker completion time (a few minutes) Optimize involves the adjustment and evaluation of many sets of part settings which may take up to an hour or more to complete
Do user-defined performance requirements influence a solution? These requirements do not influence a solution for validation These requirements are used as targets for the optimization algorithm and have a significant influence on the solution

What is Simulation?

Simulation is a new software feature based on Teton’s SmartSlice technology acquired in April 2022. Markforged has integrated that technology into Eiger, enabling them to accelerate the virtual testing of FFF parts.

What happens when the free trial ends?

When the trial ends, which is expected in April 2023, customers will be able to continue to use Simulation as part of a paid subscription.

Delivery and Returns

DELIVERY BY ADDITIVE-X

BOXES SHIP VIA DPD

Order by 4.30pm Monday to Friday (excl Bank Holidays) and Additive-X will ship your order via DPD the same day. DPD will deliver on working days only.

Depending on your postcode your options at checkout will include DPD NEXT DAY, DPD 12:00 and DPD 10:30 options. Some postcodes will show "DPD TWO DAY".

Shipping to Ireland (Northern or Republic of) is a “DAP” service which means you have to pay any Duty and Taxes. Business customers must email us their EORI and UKIMS numbers.

PALLETS DON'T SHIP VIA DPD - WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

Some units can only be shipped safely on a pallet due to weight and/or size.  Cut off time for orders shipping by pallet is 1.30pm, that’s because we need to book the job before 2pm.

Pallets are big and they ship on big lorries!  If there is any problem with a dustbin-lorry size vehicle accessing your property, you need to let us know and we can request delivery by a smaller 7.5T lorry.  If this is the case, then PALLET NEXT DAY may not be available.

Depending on your postcode your options at checkout will include PALLET NEXT DAY, PALLET 2-3 DAYS, PALLET COLLECTION HG4 2RN (organise your own pick-up).  Some postcodes will show “PALLET 5-6 DAYS” etc.
Pallet deliveries are between 09.00 and 17.00 and we are unable to give you the ETA in advance.

We use a very reliable local supplier, and the pallets go in to the “Palletforce” network.  Currently the network don’t use tracking numbers and you can't track online (coming in 2026).  Call or email us to check on a delivery or collection.
