Formlabs (Form 3) Castable Wax Resin (1L) V1 Purple

 Castable Wax Resin is a high-performance, 20% wax-filled resin suitable for direct investment casting and customer try-ons. It’s been specifically engineered for casting jewellery in precious and non-precious metals.

This is Formlabs’ best resin for investment casting. It offers higher print quality and smoother surface detail than Castable Resin V2. It has zero ash content and is suitable for a standard or short burnout cycle. It always delivers a clean burnout.

Models printed in Castable Wax Resin are strong enough to be handled without post-curing. UV curing is not required because the green strength of parts is high enough fresh from the print bed. This reduces post-processing time considerably, allowing you to showcase designs to customers quicker than ever before.

Cast everything from single rings to a series in one sitting. This resin is also suitable for larger items, such as bangles, although experimentation will be required to create a process that delivers consistent results with larger models.

Castable Wax Resin has been tested by Formlabs with silver, 18K gold, and bronze metal successfully using R&R Plasticast investment. It’s compatible with other metals too. You adjust the final casting temperature and investment used to suit the metal in question. Feel free to experiment with palladium, platinum and other metals.

Castable Wax resin is compatible with the Form 2, Form 3 and Form 3L 3D printers.
