Compatible with a Wide Range of Filaments

The Smooth PEI Plate supports both standard and high-temperature materials. You can confidently print with PLA, TPU, and PETG, as well as more demanding filaments such as ABS and Nylon.
Note: For any filament other than PLA, applying glue is recommended to help prevent surface tearing.

Reliable Magnetic Adhesion to Reduce Warping

Featuring a 0.5 mm-thick spring steel core, the Bambu Smooth PEI Plate offers strong magnetic adhesion. This helps to maintain flatness and avoid first-layer warping, especially important for larger parts or when printing with filaments like ABS, PC, and Nylon.
Note: The PEI sheet is permanently bonded to the plate and cannot be peeled off.

Important Considerations & Usage Tips

• Corner Curling Risk on A1 Series Printers:
  Due to the thicker PEI layer on the Smooth Plate, the magnetic hold is slightly reduced. This may increase the likelihood of the plate curling at the corners or models detaching prematurely.

• Removing Bubbles:
  If you notice air bubbles forming underneath the PEI layer, heating the build plate to at least 80 °C for several hours can help reduce or eliminate them.

• Maintain Cleanliness for Optimal Adhesion:
  Dust and grease reduce the effectiveness of the build surface. Regularly clean with mild detergent and water.
  Do not use acetone, as it will damage the PEI surface.

• Let It Cool Before Removing Prints:
  Wait until the plate cools to room temperature before removing your model. This makes removal easier and helps protect the build surface from wear.

• Restore Adhesion with Light Sanding:
  If adhesion begins to decline, lightly sanding the surface with fine-grit (600 grit) sandpaper can help restore performance.

• Firmware Compatibility:
  Ensure your printer firmware is up to date to benefit from the latest automatic calibration improvements.

• Consumable Part Notice:
  The Smooth PEI Plate is a consumable item that will wear with use. The warranty covers manufacturing defects only—cosmetic issues like scratches, dents, or cracks are not covered unless present upon delivery.
