3DGence ABS 1KG 1.75mm
3DGence ABS is a high-quality ABS filament which is compatible with most 3D printers with a heated build plate. Although it is specially engineered to be printed by 3DGence 3D printers, it also prints perfectly on similar machines, making it a good third-party alternative to some of the more expensive options out there.
ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) is one of the most popular engineering material used in the industry. It is the most widely used plastic in engineering because it’s easy to work with and process. It is durable, impact-resistant, and has moderate flexural strength so when printed thin it doesn’t snap easily. The filament is durable and easy to post-process. It's prone to machining, polishing, glueing and painting. ABS is strong and sturdy, which is why it is used to make LEGO® and the switchgear in most cars.
To achieve the best mechanical properties of a printed part, the 3D printer should be equipped with a heated chamber that will allow proper layer bonding. ABS is scratch-resistant has matte finishing and has good impact resistance. The material itself can be damaged by sunlight, it's sensitive to UV. The material is not biodegradable and it's not food safe. If you want a food safe plastic, check out 3DGence PC (polycarbonate).
You can also pair 3DGence ABS with 3DGence ESM-10, a solvent-soluble support material. This combination enables you to print complex geometries, functional prototypes and many more although your printer will need to have a dual extrusion system to do so.
3DGence recommends that for the best results, you should print their ABS using a printer with a heated build chamber (in addition to a heated build plate). This is so each individual layer bonds sufficiently with the last.
To print 3DGence ABS on the ONE, INDUSTRY F340 use the Pro or HF module and set the nozzle temperature to 200 - 320°C. The print bed should be set to 80-100°C to aid adhesion and make pulling parts from the print bed easier.
