Product Design
Product design contains a lot of experimentation. To turn an idea into a product, you have to create a prototype, understand its flaws and improve on them. With 3D printing, this process can begin much earlier.
Nearly all designers use CAD to help their designs take shape. With 3D printing you can export your CAD file to the printing software, select the type of material you want to use, add support material where necessary and click print. You can then watch as your part is built up layer by layer.
Print designs not possible to create in any other way, including moving parts.
